Senior Software Developer

Position Overview
  • The Senior Software Developer will evaluate and document the implications of business needs stemming from phased MRAS integration on the current OBR system architecture.
  • Define and finalize the technical scope for each phase of MRAS.
  • Offer technical guidance for the documentation of enhancement requests related to the Business Registry.
  • The Senior Software Developer will create high-level documentation detailing the modifications necessary for specific technical components within the Business Registry system.
  • Engage with client business analysts, MRAS vendor (Systemscope), and OBR vendor (Teranet) to document integration and processing requirements, along with any technical limitations or constraints.
  • Develop test plans and testing scenarios.
  • Collaborate with SystemScope and other jurisdictions on the execution of test plans.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in relationship management.
  • 3-5+ years of experience with web-based transactional systems and standards-based web service technologies in an n-tier Java EE server environment, including XML, SOAP, WSDL, and ReST, ideally within the context of occupational and/or business registry systems.
  • 3-5+ years of experience with third-party API/web service testing tools such as ReadyAPI, SoapUI, and Postman, including design and coding techniques like schema validation, parameter passing, and Groovy scripting.
  • 3+ years of experience with IBM API Connect gateway platform (or similar technology), as well as with PKI, standards-based certificates (X.509), and OpenID Connect (OIDC); a solid understanding of secure-by-design principles.
Experience and Skill Set Requirements
  • Communication and customer relationship management skills in a technical context: 35%.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management in a technical environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Good understanding of systems environments, business analysis, and change management.
  • Ability to clearly document technical artifacts and effectively transfer knowledge to full-time technical staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet milestones within tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with/within OPS.
  • Technical experience/skills with web-based transactional systems and required API technologies & tools: 35%.
  • Extensive experience with web-based transactional systems and standards-based web service technologies in an n-tier Java EE server environment, including XML, SOAP, WSDL, and ReST, ideally in the context of occupational and/or business registry systems.
  • In-depth experience with third-party API/web service testing tools such as ReadyAPI, SoapUI, and Postman, including design and coding techniques like schema validation, parameter passing, and Groovy scripting.
