Associate Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Development

About the Position
The Associate Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Development will play a critical role in the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Superintendent. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive teaching, learning, and professional development initiatives in alignment with the district's priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement observable impact planning to drive district priorities
- Lead the development and implementation of curriculum-related initiatives and program development
- Provide expert knowledge and guidance on literacy and numeracy instruction from JK-12
- Lead the use of data for school improvement and assessment practices
- Build relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities
- Lead and engage staff, parents, and the community in collaborative efforts
Requirements
- Master's Degree in an educational field
- Active involvement in community parish
- Must hold, or be eligible for a(n) NWT Teaching Certificate
- Minimum of five years experience as a school principal or equivalent leadership experience
- Proven success in curriculum-related initiatives and program development
- Expert knowledge of literacy and numeracy instruction from JK-12
- Deep understanding and experience in assessment practices
- Proven experience in the use of data for school improvement
- Knowledge of the British Columbia curriculum would be an asset
- Evidence of fostering respectful learning environments that are inclusive of all people
- Experience in building relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities
