About the Position

The Associate Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Development will play a critical role in the senior leadership team of Yellowknife Catholic Schools. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, this individual will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of strategic plans that align with the district's priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement observable impact planning to drive student achievement and well-being
  2. Lead the development and implementation of curriculum-related initiatives and program development
  3. Provide expert guidance on literacy and numeracy instruction from JK-12
  4. Collaborate with school administrators to foster respectful learning environments that are inclusive of all students
  5. Build relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities to promote cultural understanding and reconciliation

Requirements

  1. Master's Degree in an educational field
  2. Must hold, or be eligible for a(n) NWT Teaching Certificate
  3. Minimum of five years experience as a school principal or equivalent leadership experience
  4. Proven success in curriculum-related initiatives and program development
  5. Expert knowledge of literacy and numeracy instruction from JK-12
  6. Deep understanding and experience in assessment practices
  7. Proven experience in the use of data for school improvement
  8. Knowledge of the British Columbia curriculum would be an asset
  9. Evidence of fostering respectful learning environments that are inclusive of all students
  10. Experience in building relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations, and communities
