Position Overview

This role will report directly to the Capital Projects/Facility Manager and is responsible for the ongoing upkeep and repairs of all Churchill Health Centre properties and equipment. The individual will recommend suitable repairs or maintenance strategies when tasks or assignments exceed local capabilities. Responsibilities include logging repairs, documenting notes, and reporting potential or new maintenance issues. The position also involves assisting in the preventative maintenance program.

Experience

  • Previous experience as part of a maintenance team is advantageous.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Minimum of Grade twelve education or equivalent.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Valid Driver's License is required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to conduct routine maintenance on all buildings, equipment, and grounds managed by the Churchill Health Centre.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and environments.
  • Working knowledge of Fire and Building Codes.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and demonstrated capacity to work independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Availability for twenty-four-hour on-call duties.
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and its significance.

Physical Requirements

  • Potential for heavy lifting.
  • Possible posture and muscle strain issues.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Other demands related to the position.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor weather conditions.
