We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all building, equipment, and grounds owned and operated by the WRHA.
- Recommend and implement maintenance plans to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime.
- Log and track maintenance activities, including repairs, notes, and reports.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and minimize disruptions.
- Minimum Grade twelve education or equivalency.
- Valid Driver's License necessary.
- Previous experience working as a part of a maintenance team an asset.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on all building, equipment, and grounds owned and operated by the WRHA.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and environment.
- Working knowledge of Fire and Building Codes.
- Pro-active problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to operate on own initiative.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be available to take twenty-four hour on-call.
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Understanding of confidentiality and its importance.
- Possible heavy lifting.
- Possible posture and muscle problems.
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Other demands as it pertains to position.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
- Extreme outside weather conditions.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Important NotePlease note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes all WRHA sites and services.
