Job Opportunity at Protecnium

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BIM & CAD Drafter/Civil Designer to join our team in a construction project in Louisiana, USA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and modify design models for configuration.
  • Organize the preparation of construction drawings with CAD technicians, interacting with the construction team.
  • Design and optimize general plan drawings.
  • Participate in specialized design work as needed.
  • Manage and organize CAD files. Enter design specifications in CAD software.
  • Attend meetings with engineers, drafters, and designers to review plans and design drawings.
  • Create surface and solid CAD models according to client specifications.
  • Work with a design team and individually on CAD projects.
  • Review CAD models with the client and make adjustments and complete standard calculations.
  • Conduct site visits to locate grading markers and collect data.
  • Render the final model and deliver the final product.
  • Assist with drawing and quantity takeoff activities.
  • Assist with construction during the execution phase.
  • Assist with all engineering activities to meet the company's technical objectives related to design and construction.
  • Identify technical risks and participate in the preparation of risk reports and project budget forecasts, providing the necessary technical information for their implementation.
  • Establish and implement design management and other technical procedures for the project.
  • Assist with the execution phase (project assistance team to resolve non-conformities, RFI with designers, and unexpected events during construction).
  • Collaborate within the technical department, as well as with other departments.
  • Ensure the correct transmission of design information to the entire project team.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a CAD drafter/Civil Designer with BIM.
  • Experience in heavy civil construction projects (roads, bridges, structures) or similar.
  • Experience with Revit and Microstation is an asset.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus.
  • Excellent technical, communication, organizational, management, and planning skills.
  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
