Job Skills / Requirements

Role Description
Paladin Security maintains a roster of trained security personnel available for flexible scheduling.

Although this is categorized as a casual role, candidates must be prepared to work full-time hours for a minimum of six months.

Availability Requirements:


  • Must possess open availability 24/7, or

  • Must be able to work 3 to 4 shifts of 12 hours each week, including holidays, weekends, and weekdays

  • Must commit to the specified availability for a minimum of 6 months

Qualifications:



  • Must possess
  • A valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • A valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to be clean-shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum double vaccination)
  • A copy of immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
  • Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella is required at the time of hire. Candidates who are not immunized or cannot provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be eligible for the position.
  • Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)

  • Preferred: Minimum 6 months of healthcare security experience

  • Required: Minimum 1 year of non-healthcare security experience

  • Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
  • Must be able to
  • Conduct thorough patrols of the interior and exterior of the site (including during inclement weather)
  • Maintain composure in emergency situations
  • Adhere to and enforce site regulations as established by both the client and Paladin
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively to complete tasks
  • Document reports at the end of shifts, including incident reports
  • Engage compassionately with patients
  • Proficiency in English (oral & written) is required
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
  • 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Must be able to
provide certifications in Stay Safe

  • Applicants lacking these certifications can participate in Paladin's Stay Safe training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position.

Please Note:
The Stay Safe training is unpaid as it is a prerequisite; however, Paladin will cover all associated training costs with a commitment of 6 months to the position/availability.
