Position Title: Community Engagement Facilitator - Portneuf-Jacques-Cartier

Become a vital part of Les Petits Frères, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of isolated seniors. Our team is composed of passionate individuals committed to our mission of combating loneliness among the elderly.

In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues to design and implement summer programs aimed at uplifting our Elder Friends. Your responsibilities will include visiting those who are homebound and facilitating engaging activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and coordination of diverse recreational activities for seniors, working alongside team members
  • Provide essential logistical support for events and outings
  • Lead specific activities designed for elderly participants
  • Conduct visits to seniors in various settings, including their homes, residences, and healthcare facilities
  • Communicate any significant changes in the well-being or circumstances of Elder Friends to the supervisor
  • Perform follow-up calls with seniors and volunteers to ensure ongoing engagement
  • Help organize occasional outings for elderly individuals
  • Document observations and notes in the participant records

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing post-secondary education (preferably completed at least 2 years) in fields such as social work, specialized education, leisure studies, psychoeducation, psychology, or related human sciences
  • Genuine enthusiasm for supporting the elderly community
  • Familiarity with the culture of non-profit organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong diplomatic and active listening abilities
  • Highly organized and self-sufficient
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving

Employment Details

· Temporary position for 8 weeks

· 35 hours per week

· Compensation of $19 per hour

· Flexible scheduling with a combination of in-person and remote work

Eligibility Criteria

· Aged between 15 and 30

· Legally authorized to work in Canada
