Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of diverse activities and events tailored for elderly individuals, collaborating closely with team members.
  • Provide essential logistical support for the successful organization of events and outings.
  • Facilitate engaging activities for seniors, ensuring a lively and enjoyable experience.
  • Conduct visits to elderly individuals in their homes and healthcare facilities.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the well-being, health status, or challenges faced by the elderly.
  • Perform follow-up communications with seniors and volunteers to maintain connections.
  • Help coordinate occasional outings for elderly individuals, fostering social interaction.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and notes in client files.

Qualifications:

  • Completed or in-progress post-secondary education in fields such as special education, social work, leisure studies, psychoeducation, psychology, or related disciplines.
  • A genuine passion for supporting senior citizens.
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and its operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport.
  • Exemplary diplomacy and active listening abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to work independently.
  • Creative and innovative thinking to enhance program offerings.

Employment Conditions:

  • One temporary position available for a duration of 8 weeks.
  • 35-hour workweek with flexible scheduling options.
  • Hourly compensation set at $19.
  • Hybrid work model, combining in-person and remote work.
