Your Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for a temporary Mental Health Therapist in the NE Community Addictions and Mental Health Clinic, Alberta Health Services. This position provides treatment to clients experiencing moderate to severe addiction and mental health issues using a variety of treatment modalities including CBT, ART, EMDR, DBT, ACT, MI, etc. The position reports directly to the Program Manager, Community Addictions and Mental Health - NE Campus.
Description:
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to clients experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in need.
- Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in mental health treatment.
Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing, with training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Preferred Qualifications:
DBT and ART trained would be an asset.
