Job Title: Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

We are currently looking for a proactive individual to take on the role of Senior Mechanical Project Engineer within a regulated setting. The selected candidate will be tasked with efficiently overseeing both internal and external resources to ensure the successful execution of investment projects while adhering to established budgets, timelines, and directives. This position is part of the capital projects team at Haleon, focusing on initiatives within a manufacturing environment (solid dosage forms, liquids, and semi-solids in production, packaging, and support services).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional internal teams and external vendors throughout project phases
  • Develop and oversee project plans and timelines
  • Manage financial aspects, tender processes, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assess, select, and implement new equipment or enhancements to existing systems, taking into account emerging technologies or processing strategies
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines and standards for all projects
  • Contribute to the definition of departmental objectives, processes, and strategies, along with equipment and facility lifecycle management
  • Supervise and monitor on-site activities for projects
  • Conduct risk evaluations and formulate safe working practices in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Prepare and execute various documentation such as project charters, specifications, risk assessments, commissioning plans, and work execution protocols
  • Oversee health and safety protocols at work sites involving contractors
  • Complete projects within the designated timeframe, budget, and scope while providing support during the transition to operational phases

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in project engineering and management
  • Experience in a regulated GMP environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in project engineering principles, particularly in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or agri-food sectors

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as necessary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Project, MATLAB, and CAD software
  • Familiarity with engineering regulations, including local (RBQ) and national codes
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
