We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to occupy a position of Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in a regulated environment.

The candidate will be responsible for managing internal and external resources to successfully complete investment projects within defined budgets, deadlines, and mandates. The Project Engineer will work in the Capital Projects team at our Montreal factory. They will be required to work on projects in a manufacturing plant (solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage compression, packaging, and support services).

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and achieve objectives and deadlines of mandates.
  • Be responsible for the following activities:
    • Coordinate and manage internal and external multidisciplinary teams during project phases.
    • Develop and manage project plans and schedules.
    • Manage budgets, procurement processes, and cost management throughout the project.
    • Develop and/or direct the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new equipment or modifications to existing systems, taking into account new technologies or treatment strategies. This may include evaluating economic, environmental, quality, conservation, or productivity impacts in engineering reports.
    • Ensure compliance with deadlines and standards for all projects.
    • Participate actively in defining mandates, processes, and strategies for departments, as well as managing the lifecycle of equipment and buildings.
    • Be a key partner to supervise and guide on-site work for their mandates.
    • Perform risk analysis and develop safe working methods with stakeholders.
    • Write, coordinate, and execute various documents such as project charters, requirements documents, risk analysis, project plans, and execution protocols.
    • Manage workplace health and safety with contractors.
    • Complete projects according to the planned deadline, budget, and mandate, while ensuring support during the transition to operation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in project engineering and project management.
  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Thorough knowledge and mastery of project engineering concepts, particularly in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food industries, with proven experience in managing contractors and budgets.
  • The candidate must be a member of the .

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong team collaboration skills (operations, maintenance, quality, and compliance).
  • Mastery of project management concepts.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be a good team player.
  • The position may require working outside regular hours depending on the work (evenings and weekends).
  • Good communicator, both written and oral (French and English).
  • Mastery of SAP, Microsoft Project, MATLAB, and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of engineering regulations, local (RBQ) and national codes.
  • Cognizance of Good Manufacturing Practices (BPF).
