Job Title: Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
We are in search of a proactive and skilled individual to take on the role of Senior Mechanical Project Engineer within a highly regulated setting. The selected candidate will be tasked with efficiently overseeing both internal and external resources to ensure the successful execution of investment projects, adhering to established budgets, timelines, and project specifications. This position is part of the capital projects team at Haleon, concentrating on initiatives within a manufacturing environment that produces solid dosage forms, liquids, and semi-solids, along with associated packaging and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional internal teams and external vendors throughout all project stages
- Formulate and oversee project plans and timelines
- Manage financial aspects, including budgeting, tendering, and cost control during the project lifecycle
- Assess, select, and implement new machinery or enhancements to current systems, taking into account innovative technologies or processing methodologies
- Ensure all projects meet established deadlines and quality standards
- Contribute to the development of departmental objectives, processes, and strategies, as well as equipment and facility lifecycle management
- Supervise and monitor on-site project activities
- Conduct risk evaluations and devise safe working practices in collaboration with stakeholders
- Prepare and execute various documentation, including project charters, specifications, risk assessments, commissioning plans, and operational protocols
- Oversee health and safety measures at work sites involving contractors
- Deliver projects within the designated timeframe, budget, and scope while facilitating the transition to operational status
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in project engineering and management
- Experience in a regulated GMP environment
- Comprehensive understanding of project engineering principles, particularly in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or agri-food sectors
Essential Skills:
- Strong collaborative abilities within a team setting
- Proficient in project management methodologies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a cooperative attitude
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
- Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Project, MATLAB, and CAD software
- Knowledge of engineering regulations and compliance with local (RBQ) and national codes
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
