Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader, Chemical Recovery & Utilities to join our team at Irving Pulp & Paper Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our steam plant, process water, and compressed air systems. You will also be responsible for leading the re-causticizing process, where we convert process chemicals back to use for the digesting process.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the operation of the steam plant, process water, and compressed air systems to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  2. Lead the re-causticizing process, ensuring the conversion of process chemicals back to use for the digesting process.
  3. Plan, organize, and coordinate work of employees on crew to ensure quality and timeliness of work is completed within budgeted parameters.
  4. Assign work, set expectations and accountability for completion, and ensure adherence to labour contract and company procedures.
  5. Communicate with other supervisors to help achieve and maintain smooth workflow and a high degree of productivity.
  6. Foster an environment that is focused on safety and recommend process improvement initiatives.
  7. Ensure consistent adherence to ISO standards for quality and environmental management.
  8. Ensure adherence to all safety and management policies.
Requirements:
  1. 2nd Class Power Engineer certification.
  2. Completion of College / CEGEP / Vocational or Technical Training.
  3. 2-5 years supervisory experience in a production environment.
  4. 2-5 years applicable trade experience in an industrial, mechanical, manufacturing or shipbuilding environment.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Problem solving skills and ability to lead and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
