About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Recovery Coordinator to join our team at 09 Irving Oil Limited. As a key member of our Order to Cash team, you will play a critical role in maximizing the recovery of funds on delinquent customer accounts across multiple business lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact customers to arrange payment plans, including recommending alternatives to consumer proposals and bankruptcies.
  • Assign non-recoverable accounts to collection agencies and small claims courts as required, following applicable processes.
  • Support the Recovery Manager by coordinating and managing workflows, exception requests, and escalating concerns.
  • Monitor the recovery portfolio to ensure customers adhere to their agreed repayment arrangements and that these arrangements meet company policies and procedures.
  • Manage abandoned credits, including reviewing and returning funds to customers and filing for US accounts.
  • Reconcile the recovery portfolio monthly to ensure accurate amounts owing and fees paid to third parties.
  • Provide recommendations on approach for special/larger bad debt accounts or suspected fraud investigations.
  • Support the development and implementation of credit recovery-related policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company in Small Claims actions as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of collection experience.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent with practical experience.
