Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Team Leader to oversee the efficient operation of our Chemical Recovery & Utilities department at the Irving Pulp & Paper Mill. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable production of steam, power, and process water, while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of power engineers and technicians to operate and maintain the steam plant, process water treatment, and compressed air systems.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve safety, efficiency, and productivity, while adhering to company procedures and ISO standards.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and high productivity, while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with labor contracts and company policies, while promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Monitor and control costs, while ensuring quality and timeliness of work is completed within budgeted parameters.

Requirements:

  • 2nd Class Power Engineer certification.
  • Completion of college or vocational training in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a production environment, with a strong background in mechanical or industrial operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
