As a Mental Health Therapist, you will use a variety of treatment modalities with adults experiencing significant mental health difficulties. You will work both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
  • Work both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment.
  • Develop and grow a positive workplace culture that encompasses a culture of care and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
  • Completion of one of the following programs will be considered: Bachelor of Social Work including training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization; Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or a Related Master's degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or Considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Diploma or bachelor's degree in nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with: Related master's degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy or, Experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in community mental health and working in a rural community.
  • Knowledge of brief therapy and other clinical modalities.
