**Position: Supports for Community Living Worker**
**Program: Alberta Brain Injury Network**
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)-Central Alberta is a non-profit organization with over 50 years of experience helping vulnerable people in our community. We are a growing organization focused on forward thinking, community building, and changing the conversation around mental health.
The Alberta Brain Injury Network (ABIN) program is part of a larger provincial network providing service coordination and delivery to support individuals and families living with the impact of an acquired brain injury.
**The scope of work and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following**:
- Provide short term training and supports to adults with an acquired brain injury based on a service plan developed by a Service Coordinator.
- Follow up on speech, physiotherapy and occupational therapy plans.
- Assist with connecting to the community, developing problem solving skills, menu planning, communication strategies, organizational and daily living skills.
- Work with individuals in their own homes and in the community.
- Work from a culturally competent, trauma-informed, strengths-based framework.
- Maintain up to date, professionally written case notes and report writing.
**Desired qualifications and skills include**:
- A diploma or degree in a human services discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct client experience preferably in the area of brain injury.
- Strong foundation and understanding of brain injury, addictions, mental health.
- Comfortable with working with clients in their own home.
- Strong teaching/coaching creative skills and patience with repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable and competent in working independently
- A valid Class 5 GDL Driver’s License, registration and insurance.
- A valid Emergency or Standard First Aid certificate.
