POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Operations Finance Controller, the Cost Analysis Specialist plays a crucial role in executing, enhancing, and overseeing cost analysis and internal control measures for the organization. Key responsibilities encompass the management of Inventory Master records, evaluating departmental performance against established benchmarks, reporting discrepancies, and providing insights to the Operations Leadership Team. Additionally, support the Operations Controller in fostering a robust internal controls framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Standard Costing:
  • Input standard costs and related records for all newly acquired raw materials, molded, and printed inventory items.
  • Create routings to assign labor and overhead costs to inventory items.
  • Ensure accurate costing of purchased items.
  • Monthly revaluation of actual inventory costs based on material pricing.
  • Maintain and revise various cost sets for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
  • Weekly reporting of key performance indicators and customer volumes, including labor and overhead expenditures, shared with management teams.
  • Generate various other weekly and monthly reports, such as scrap and variance analyses.
  • Engage in month-end financial closing processes within the designated timeframe for inventory and cost-related matters.
  • Participate in interim and year-end audits.
  • Analyze material variances and transportation costs on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the evaluation of labor and overhead variances.
  • Budgeting:
  • Aid in the preparation of financial budgets and quarterly forecasts for material costs and departmental overhead expenses.
  • Internal Controls:
  • Manage the Bill of Material, Routings, and Costed BOMs on a daily basis.
  • Oversee daily cycle count adjustments.
  • Assist and eventually lead the annual physical inventory process, including planning, execution, and variance analysis for finished goods, raw materials, and work in progress.
  • Lead, facilitate, or participate in specific continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a solid grasp of accounting principles and transactions.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with large ERP/MRP systems is advantageous. Proficient PC skills, including a strong command of Microsoft Office applications and Excel, are essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities with a strong capacity to positively influence desired behaviors. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required.
