Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to become part of the team at Vancouver General Hospital as a Nurse Clinician. We welcome your application to be a part of our dedicated team.

Responsibilities of the Nurse Clinician/CRN include:

Delivering leadership and applying specialized knowledge to ensure the provision of safe, ethical, and high-quality care to specific patient/client/resident populations. Serving as a clinical resource by offering consultation and support to the interdisciplinary care team, other healthcare professionals, and students. Fostering excellence in patient/client/resident-centered care, education, and research initiatives. Engaging in direct patient/client and family care as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of a post-basic specialty nursing program, if applicable, along with three (3) years of recent, relevant experience in the designated specialized clinical area or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for local travel may be necessary.

Proven ability to provide clinical leadership and direct work. Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively. Understanding of various healthcare disciplines and their roles in patient/client care. Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in individual and group settings. Ability to manage and guide others in resolving conflict situations. Adaptability to new or unexpected circumstances. Capacity to lead change and support staff during transitions. Proficiency in assessment and treatment techniques for specialized patient/client populations using evidence-informed practices. Ability to develop and deliver educational programs and materials for staff, patients, clients, and families based on educational theories and best practices. Capability to foster a supportive and innovative learning environment. Knowledge of research processes and methodologies. Competence in CPR techniques. Computer literacy to utilize computerized client care information systems and relevant software applications. Ability to operate necessary equipment. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
