Position Overview

The Claims Information Entry Specialist is tasked with the precise input and management of insurance claims data. This position requires handling confidential information, ensuring the integrity of data, and complying with privacy standards. The specialist will guarantee that all claims are processed efficiently and accurately, adhering to established protocols and regulations.

Primary Duties

  1. Input insurance claims data into the database with precision, including patient details, procedure codes, and billing figures.
  2. Confirm that all entries comply with the organization's policies and procedures.
  3. Recognize when submitted claims lack essential information necessary for data entry.
  4. Examine and validate the accuracy of insurance claims data; maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 98% consistently.
  5. Rectify any inconsistencies and ensure all required information is included prior to submission.
  6. Keep organized and current records of all processed claims.
  7. Detect and amend errors in claims submissions.

Required Qualifications

  1. Preferred: Associate's degree or higher.
  2. Minimum of two years of experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, or a related area.
  3. Proficient in data entry with familiarity in healthcare/insurance preferred.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  7. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding is advantageous.

  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  4. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
