This position entails investigating and adjusting low to moderate general liability claims, such as bodily injury and slip and fall incidents.

The ideal candidate will deliver SCM's standard of quality service, facilitating prompt and fair resolution of claims in accordance with corporate policies, while also identifying and pursuing business development opportunities.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands effectively.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, negotiate, and resolve liability claims.
  • Conduct field investigations as necessary within account guidelines.
  • Initiate contact in accordance with account protocols.
  • Provide reports to clients as per account specifications.
  • Identify liability risks, recommend reserves, suggest necessary investigations, prepare action plans, and negotiate settlements.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to clients and insured parties.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or relevant post-secondary education in insurance.
  • Must be licensed in all provinces except Quebec, having completed several CIP courses; preference for candidates with CIP designation.
  • 1-2 years of experience in liability claims, particularly in slip/trip and fall cases; experience with represented claimants is advantageous.
