Organizational Vision

Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc is a forward-thinking First Nation, dedicated to the advancement of its community through substantial capital infrastructure initiatives and diverse social, economic, and environmental projects.

Core Responsibilities

As the Project Engineer, you will report to the Planning & Engineering Manager and will be accountable for overseeing the planning and execution of capital projects. Your role will ensure that community initiatives are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with TteS objectives.

Key Duties Include:

  1. Infrastructure Development (25%)
    • Manage the planning, construction, and maintenance of essential infrastructure.
    • Conduct engineering assessments with the guidance of the Planning & Engineering Manager.
    • Support the planning of water distribution and sewer systems using advanced modeling software.
    • Facilitate community engagement and consultation.
  2. Project Management (50%)
    • Oversee project timelines, responsibilities, and progress reporting.
    • Ensure project deliverables meet established scope and budget.
    • Evaluate technological and resource requirements for project feasibility.
  3. Grant Management
    • Prepare and monitor project funding applications.
    • Lead project initiation with a focus on feasibility and detailed planning.
    • Collaborate with various departments to clarify objectives and resource needs.
  4. Construction Oversight
    • Administer contracts and manage project workflows.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and industry standards.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders for seamless project execution.
  5. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare detailed reports.
    • Conduct risk management analyses to mitigate project risks.
  6. Continuous Improvement
    • Assist in the development of the Asset Management Program.
    • Maintain accurate infrastructure records and develop operational manuals.

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Eligibility for registration with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a civil engineering environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and municipal development approvals.

  • Proficiency in budgeting and resource management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
