Position OverviewThe Project Engineer will report directly to the Planning & Engineering Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of capital projects, from initial planning through to successful completion. This includes managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that all projects meet established objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Development: Plan, manage, and oversee the construction and maintenance of essential infrastructure, including water, sanitary, and storm sewer systems.
- Project Management: Coordinate project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Grant Management: Prepare and submit project funding applications, monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate community consultations and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular updates to leadership regarding project status, challenges, and milestones achieved.
- A degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility for registration with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, project management, or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of related policies and practices is an asset.
