Primary skillsets include: strong leadership, knowledge of Azure/Office 365 and basic infrastructure awareness. The team includes a cyber security FTE as well as a technical lead and two desktop support staff. The company has 130 people. We are keen to have oversight and leadership in this role.

The Position

In the capacity of Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for orchestrating, guiding, and supervising the technological operations within the organization. This role demands a strategic mindset to ensure the development and execution of efficient processes and cost-effective systems that align with the current and future demands of the organization. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional leadership qualities, demonstrating a history of driving operational excellence through fostering a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement, and high-performance teams.
In collaboration with department leaders, you will oversee the company's IT operations, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective technical support services.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with organizational leaders to discern business and technological requirements, optimizing the use of information technology.Steer the comprehensive process of IT enhancements, upgrades, and significant projects, including the management of external resources while refining technology delivery.Guarantee the availability, stability, and security of the organization's systems and networks by identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, addressing issues, and facilitating IT security audits or investigations.Establish efficiency and effectiveness benchmarks, providing recommendations for IT infrastructure enhancements.Evaluate IT infrastructure and system performance to assess operational costs, productivity levels, upgrade necessities, and other metrics.Formulate and implement business continuity strategies to minimize disruptions to operations during emergencies or data loss incidents.Build and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.Define business requirements for IT systems, establishing relevant IT policies and procedures.Inspire, lead, and motivate IT department employees to deliver high-quality outputs that support the company's mission of fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.Develop business case justifications and conduct cost/benefit analyses for technology investments and initiatives.Oversee the development, tracking, and management of the annual operating and capital budgets for information technology.
Education, Knowledge & Skills:Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent post-secondary education and relevant experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience managing an IT department; extensive experience of 8 – 10 years in Information Technology.Comprehensive knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments, including experience with computer systems architecture, systems administration, networking, information security, and workstation administration.Proven ability to function effectively in a service-oriented environment that values collaboration and collegiality, including respectful and sensitive interactions.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively address various situations.Strong analytical abilities for assessing situations to determine appropriate solutions or outcomes.Solid understanding of current security protocols and threats.Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others.
