At Canadian Blood Services, we are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to play a vital role in the production and distribution of blood and related products. If you have experience in a manufacturing environment and strong communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, select, issue, and pack blood products in a safe and efficient manner
  • Prepare shipments to the fractionation plant, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • Operate computer terminals and automated equipment to optimize production processes
  • Maintain stock levels of supplies and perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance
  • Adhere to strict safety regulations and precautions to prevent accidents and ensure a healthy work environment
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse team to achieve common goals

Requirements:

  • One year of laboratory experience or equivalent, with a strong understanding of blood production processes
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on science or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
