Laboratory Assistant

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant - Distribution to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations East team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the distribution of blood components that provide life-saving treatments for Canadians.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation, production, and modification of blood components, ensuring proper storage and handling.
- Provide technical assistance and maintain laboratory equipment and test instruments.
- Receive and process orders, select and issue blood components, and dispatch them to hospitals according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, and perform routine preventative maintenance of equipment and work areas to ensure safety and quality of blood products.
- Completion of secondary education and minimum 1 year laboratory work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Technical skills including MS Office, and the ability to learn systems and programs as required.
- Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions precisely and carry out repetitive tasks.

This position requires the Trustworthiness and Reliability Verification requirements of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and is subject to criminal records and employment verification checks.
