Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Head of Human Resources Operations will spearhead the development and coordination of various human resources management initiatives. This role will be instrumental in establishing employee committees focused on skills development and health and safety protocols.

Your responsibilities will evolve in alignment with the production demands of our organization. Ultimately, your mission will encompass managing all human resource processes, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance evaluation, employee engagement, and health and safety programs. You will serve as an advisor, providing support to the plant supervision team, management, and employees in both plant and office settings, ensuring the application of best practices in human resources.

You will be a crucial contributor to the enhancement of skills and interpersonal relations through your positive and dynamic approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies, practices, and procedures;
  • Develop and implement effective human resources strategies focused on workforce retention, training, and development;
  • Lead the integration process for new international employees, providing necessary support for various provincial and federal services;
  • Manage the recruitment process for executives and staff in collaboration with department heads;
  • Facilitate the orientation and onboarding of new employees;
  • Collaborate in managing the company's benefits program;
  • Work with management on negotiating employment agreements and ensure their proper implementation in daily operations;
  • Advise and assist supervisors during employee interactions;
  • Draft and collaborate on internal and external communications with management;
  • Conduct internal investigations and prepare necessary documentation;
  • Lead individual meetings to address and resolve issues effectively;
  • Maintain a safe working environment by developing and enforcing health and safety standards in conjunction with the health and safety committee;
  • Contribute to fostering a culture of respect, communication, risk prevention, operational excellence, and safe work practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as industrial relations, health and safety management, or human resources;
  • Over 8 years of progressive experience in human resources within a manufacturing or industrial setting;
  • At least 3 years of experience in health and safety (preferred);
  • A dynamic, hands-on, results-oriented individual recognized for managing multiple priorities effectively;
  • Bilingual proficiency in both oral and written French and English is essential;
  • Knowledge of Spanish or Arabic is a plus;
  • Strong leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the capacity to influence various stakeholders;
  • A collaborative team player with strong negotiation and discussion skills;
  • Good judgment and a strong professional ethic in decision-making;
  • Initiative and autonomy in work;
  • Familiarity with applicable labor standards, benefits, compensation, and health and safety regulations;
  • Membership in a recognized human resources professional organization is an asset;
  • Valid passport for potential international recruitment missions.
