About the Role

Mettman Carriers Inc. is seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for laying out reference points and patterns, planning the sequence of tasks to cut metal efficiently, and assembling and fitting plates and sections to form structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Laying Out and Planning: Lay out reference points and patterns, and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently.
  • Material Requirements: Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements.
  • Assembly and Fitting: Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
  • Metal Working: Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines.
  • Pattern and Template Construction: Construct patterns and templates.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, combination of sitting, standing, walking, hand-eye co-ordination, attention to detail, and fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, organized, reliability, and team player.
Work Environment
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
