About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Cornwall Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including handling and restraining animals, preparing and administering medications, and conducting laboratory research.
  • Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals, including routine dental procedures and assisting with animal dentistry.
  • Counsel clients on animal health care, including providing information on animal behavior, nutrition, and health.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Collaborate with our veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care and achieve outstanding clinical outcomes.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as veterinary technology or animal science.
  • Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital, with a strong understanding of animal behavior and health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require manual dexterity and lifting, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
