We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Cornwall Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including handling and restraining animals, preparing and administering medications, and conducting laboratory research.
- Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals, including routine dental procedures and assisting with animal dentistry.
- Counsel clients on animal health care, including providing information on animal behavior, nutrition, and health.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities to ensure seamless patient care.
- Collaborate with our veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care and achieve outstanding clinical outcomes.
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as veterinary technology or animal science.
- Experience working in a veterinary setting, preferably in a hospital or clinic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform routine animal care tasks.
