About the Role

As a Damage Claims Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of damage claims related to FortisBC assets. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims involving various types of damages, including those incurred by third parties.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations into damage claims, gathering relevant information from claimants, employees, and external agencies.
  • Analyze claim documentation, assess the validity of claims, and determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing claim findings and recommendations for action.
  • Process invoices and payments related to damage claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations teams and legal representatives, to resolve complex claims.
  • Maintain accurate records of all claim interactions and documentation.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduation plus a minimum of a post-secondary education certificate from a recognized institution in a legal field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years directly related, relevant work experience in an insurance and claims environment or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound judgments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
