Operations System Damages Coordinator

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data and information supporting damage claim invoices. You will reconcile and validate supporting information to enable invoice approvals and generation.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare timely billing to customers, reviewing billing information for consistency, accuracy, and appropriate approvals.
- Distribute customer invoices and supporting documentation, preparing invoice breakdown statements as needed.
- Process claims interactions online, running queries and reports, updating and maintaining related information.
- Process claim-related work orders and notifications, maintaining data integrity.
- Work with managers and supervisors to resolve customer disputes, creating supporting documentation for billing arrangements and applying discounts as required.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries, verbally or in written communications.
- Pursue claims less than $5000.00.
- Provide assistance with pursuing recoveries from damages incurred on Fortis assets, adjusting claims against FortisBC.
- Collaborate with others to gather claim information, communicating with claimants, employees, and external agencies as needed.
- Support the assessment and payment of claims involving FortisBC.
- Perform administrative duties, including scanning documents in SAP and preparing/mailing letters or emails.
- High School graduation plus a minimum of a post-secondary education certificate from a recognized institution in a legal field.
- Minimum of two (2) years directly related, relevant work experience, typically gained through an Operation Support Representative 3 position or an insurance and claims work environment.
- Customer service and strong verbal/non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to respond to difficult or demanding internal/external customer situations.
- Sound organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure during peak workload periods.
- Sound written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and compose a variety of external and internal correspondence.
- Courteous, professional manner in dealing with internal and external contacts, including positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a positive team environment.
- Fast, accurate keyboarding skills (60 words per minute), including the ability to format various types of correspondence, reports, forms, charts, and electronic spreadsheets.
- Working knowledge of computer systems operations, environment, and peripherals, as well as various applications software in use in the department (SAP & suite of MS Office products).
- Knowledge of field operations processes and procedures.
- Sound analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret data from a variety of sources.
- Prior to the interview, Talent Acquisition will conduct a full employee general record review, including sick leave and attendance records, personnel file review, and letters on file.
- This role is covered under the FortisBC/MoveUP Collective Agreement.
