Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Shunt Truck Driver to join our team at Transport Gaston Nadeau inc. as a Transportation Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, receiving and relaying information to central dispatch, and ensuring the safe transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Logistics
    • Drive manual transmission vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and laws.
  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
    • Identify and report any maintenance issues to the maintenance team.
  • Communication and Customer Service
    • Communicate effectively with central dispatch and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
    • Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Worksite Environment and Safety
    • Work in a dusty environment and take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
    • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Work Experience
    • At least 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Licenses and Permits
    • Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles) is required.
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Judgement and reliability are essential for this role.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work a maximum of 10 hours per week and will be required to own a cellular phone and steel-toed safety boots.
