Job Title: Maintenance Worker - Shunt Truck Driver

At Transport Gaston Nadeau inc., we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker - Shunt Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance tasks, communicating information to central dispatch, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Tasks: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on our fleet of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Communicate with Central Dispatch: Effectively communicate with our dispatch team to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Meet Safety and Security Requirements: Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and that all drivers have the necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Operate Vehicles Safely: Drive manual transmission vehicles and ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and equipped with necessary safety features.
  • Meet Work Conditions: Work in a physically demanding environment with a large workload, and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Meet Tools and Equipment Requirements: Possess a cellular phone and steel-toed safety boots, and ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working condition.
  • Meet Personal Qualities Requirements: Demonstrate strong judgement, organization, reliability, and hardworking skills to ensure the success of our operations.
Requirements:
  • Class 5/5F/G Licence: Possess a valid Class 5/5F/G licence for cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles.
  • Valid Driver's Licence: Possess a valid driver's licence and undergo regular checks.
  • Own Transportation: Possess own transportation and a valid driver's licence.
  • Language: Fluency in French is required.
  • Work Hours: Work 8 to 10 hours per week.
