The Role:

We are in search of a Senior Business Analyst to become a vital part of our Strategy and Business Transformation team.

Reporting to the Manager of Business Analysis, the Senior Business Analyst will engage with business stakeholders to comprehend current business processes and subsequently identify and document optimal future state processes (including flow diagrams), business needs, and requirements for both business and technology teams.

The team collaborates closely with all sectors of Canadian Wealth Management lines of business, supporting the execution of strategic initiatives by ensuring the delivery of high-value processes for our clients and end users.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collection, verification, and management of requirements, acting as a liaison between business units/customers, technology teams, and support teams.
  • Engage with business, investment management, technology, marketing, and compliance teams to analyze business needs, gather requirements, and define current and future states.
  • Provide expertise in business analysis, data mapping, and process flow creation.
  • Communicate proactively with internal and external customers to analyze information needs and elicit requirements, delivering necessary artifacts such as functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, and process maps.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Work independently with users to define concepts, as well as under the guidance of project managers or senior analysts.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through mapping and redesign.
  • Assist in completing the Business Case and Business Capability Blueprint by analyzing relevant data queries.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to clarify business needs and enhance BA processes.
  • Define use cases and collaborate with testing teams to ensure end-to-end traceability from business requirements to test cases.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills in managing and coaching other business analysts and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of business analysis experience in information technology.
  • 2+ years of experience in the mutual fund, securities, and/or insurance industry.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities or Investment Funds in Canada Course is an asset; CBAP designation preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements.
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills, capable of establishing effective working relationships across various management levels.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in workflow modeling and process mapping, with a proven ability to analyze business processes and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with external vendors to identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Technically proficient with various software programs and platforms, including MS Office, SQL Server Management Studio, and Visio.
  • Fundamental understanding of relational databases and competency in query composition and data analysis.
  • SAFe certification and/or experience with Agile Delivery Teams is preferred.
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required; bilingual skills in French are an asset.

Salary:

This position offers an expected salary range of $87,000 - $115,000 CAD annually, with individual compensation packages based on various factors unique to each candidate.
