The Role:
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice-President of Wealth Strategy & Advisor Enablement, the Lead Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in developing and sustaining the firm’s data analytics framework and reporting capabilities.
The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of the Canadian Wealth Management sector, including key concepts related to unique Assets Under Administration (AUA), revenue streams, Advisor Compensation structures, and advisor code frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously enhance and manage Wellington-Altus Private Wealth's internal data analytics framework (using MS Excel), which includes integrating new data queries into the master reporting file and creating new reporting views as directed by the SVP or at the request of the Executive Committee.
- Generate a monthly reporting suite for the Executive Committee, Regional Managers, and Advisors, which encompasses file rollovers, updates to team and advisor code mappings, source data refreshes, and the addition of newly joined teams.
- Conduct ad hoc data analyses and reporting to support policy discussions and fulfill data requests from the Executive Committee, Regional Managers, and Advisors.
- Develop and maintain financial modeling spreadsheets.
- Assist in the ongoing management of Advisor Compensation policies, including tracking monthly Commission Payouts and Office Efficiency Policy chargebacks.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a wealth management capacity, preferably in an analyst or product support role.
- CPA designation is highly regarded.
- CSC certification is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is crucial, along with experience in data management and working with complex data sets.
- Familiarity with the MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Experience with Power BI is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across various platforms.
- A high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and creativity in achieving daily tasks and long-term objectives.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
