Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice-President of Wealth Strategy & Advisor Enablement, the Senior Financial Analyst, Wealth Strategy will play a crucial role in developing and sustaining the firm's data analytics framework and reporting capabilities.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian Wealth Management sector, including key concepts related to unique AUA and revenue platforms, Advisor Compensation structures, and advisor code frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous development and upkeep of Wellington-Altus Private Wealth's internal data analytics framework (MS Excel), which includes integrating new data queries into the master reporting file and expanding reporting views as directed by the SVP Wealth Strategy or upon request from the Executive Committee.
- Preparation of a monthly reporting suite for the Executive Committee, Regional Managers, Advisor teams, and other business line stakeholders, which involves monthly file rollover, updates to team and advisor code mappings, source data refreshes, and the addition of newly joined teams across the entire file, along with the creation and distribution of PDF reports to all end users.
- Conducting ad hoc data analyses and reporting to support policy discussions, as well as fulfilling data requests from the Executive Committee, Regional Managers, and Advisors.
- Developing and maintaining financial modeling spreadsheets.
- Assisting with the ongoing management of Advisor Compensation policies, including tracking monthly Commission Payouts and Office Efficiency Policy chargebacks.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a wealth management capacity; experience in an analytical role or product support function is preferred.
- CPA designation is a significant advantage.
- CSC certification is beneficial.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential, with experience in data management, including maintaining cohesive data structures and working with complex data sets.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across various mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).
- A high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in daily tasks and long-term objectives.
- An ability to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
