Newlands Group is seeking a proficient Lead Application Engineer with extensive knowledge in trading systems to oversee the application support team for our client’s platform. This position involves collaboration with our international offices to ensure effective support and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the support team to uphold platform performance, availability, and dependability.
  • Deliver expert-level assistance and resolve intricate issues associated with trading systems.
  • Work closely with development and product teams to tackle application-related challenges.
  • Establish and manage incident and problem management protocols.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including support processes.
  • Guide and train support team members to enhance their skills.
  • Evaluate support metrics to identify trends and propose enhancements.
  • Effectively communicate with clients regarding support matters and resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Python is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience is essential.
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline is required.
  • Over 5 years of experience in application support, particularly in trading systems.
  • Expertise in application monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with financial risk management software is advantageous.
  • Understanding of AWS platforms and services is beneficial.
