Health and Safety Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Consultant to join our team at Groupe Colas Quebec Inc - Ouest. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions;
- Provide training and education to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols;
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions;
- Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement health and safety programs and initiatives;
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to stay up-to-date on health and safety regulations and best practices;
- Provide support and guidance to employees on health and safety matters;
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures;
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks to employees and stakeholders;
- Develop and maintain health and safety records and reports.
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as occupational health and safety, industrial relations, or a related field;
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction industry;
- Certification in occupational health and safety, such as the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects;
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry;
- Ability to travel to various work sites and locations.
