We are seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to join our Mental Health Reactivation (MHR) program as independent contractors. This program focuses on helping employees return to work after experiencing common mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, or adjustment disorders.

As a Mental Health Reactivation Consultant, you will provide specialized therapy and support to clients navigating short-term and long-term disability due to mental health concerns. Your expertise in psychotherapy, return-to-work (RTW) facilitation, and cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) will be instrumental in guiding clients towards recovery and successful reintegration into the workforce.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of client psychosocial issues and barriers to functioning and RTW.
  • Deliver weekly one-on-one therapy sessions, utilizing the standardized procedures within the MHR program.
  • Implement behavioral activation strategies, CBT, motivational interviewing (MI), and problem-solving therapies to enhance clients' functioning in daily life and work.
  • Maintain regular communication with Homewood Health clinical staff through semi-standardized reporting and weekly written documentation.
What We Look For:
  • Successful completion of an entry-to-practice Occupational Therapy program.
  • Registration with the relevant Occupational Therapy regulatory organization.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the mental health sector, providing psychotherapy and/or counseling to individuals with common mental disorders.
  • Certification and/or experience in CBT and MI techniques.
  • Experience in RTW counseling for clients on short-term/long-term disability and/or WSIB claims, including RTW facilitation and work-focused treatment.
  • Exceptional customer service delivery and client-centered care.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to team objectives.
  • Commitment to taking responsibility for actions and decisions.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal. French language skills are an asset.
