Job Summary:
Hunter West Legal Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Human Resources Manager to join our client, a well-established boutique law firm in downtown Vancouver. As the ideal candidate for this role, you will be responsible for managing the HR function, acting as liaison and facilitator for various departments and stakeholders, and supporting the firm's Partners in their day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Lifecycle Management:
- Full cycle recruitment and selection of staff
- Onboarding of new employees
- Conducting annual performance reviews and compensation analysis
- Addressing performance concerns as needed
- Administering benefits and leaves of absence
- Managing staff vacation time
- Overseeing terminations and departures
- HR Operations:
- Administering firm Policies and Procedures, and updating them as required in accordance with Employment Standards
- Running payroll in collaboration with Finance Director
- Support to Partners and Finance Director:
- Assisting Partners and Finance Director with day-to-day operations of the firm
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience within a law firm
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution capabilities
- Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
- Open and flexible attitude
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field is considered an asset
Compensation and Benefits:
Our client offers a competitive compensation and total benefits package, and the expected annual salary range for this position is $90,000-100,000 (full-time equivalent; will be pro-rated to reflect part-time schedule).
