About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Policy Analyst to join our team at the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse. As a key member of our research program, you will be responsible for conducting research and providing policy analysis to inform our work in the domain of criminal justice and public safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and respond to research requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide research-based policy analysis to inform our work and priorities
  • Represent CCSA on expert committees and working groups, and liaise with external scientific and clinical advisors
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge mobilization plans and implement processes to identify and promote emerging areas of research
  • Participate in continuous learning and peer-to-peer learning opportunities to advance knowledge and competency in effective knowledge mobilization practices
Requirements
  • Masters or PhD in the health sciences, social sciences, neuroscience, population health, or epidemiology
  • Three to five years of experience conducting research in a related field
  • Familiarity with partner engagement, consultation, and data collection through various mechanisms
  • Ability to inform the development of knowledge mobilization products, such as toolkits, learning modules, and policy briefs
  • Experience working with quantitative statistical software or qualitative analysis software
Assets
  • Experience in preparing successful grant proposals and reviewing grant proposals, particularly with federal research granting bodies
  • Experience working in or with governmental, non-governmental, or international organizations
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Research experience in the fields of alcohol and cannabis
