In alignment with our expansion, we are seeking a Regional Operations Manager to guide our exceptional team.
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring excellence in the service and experience of our café operations. This role involves identifying, inspiring, training, developing, and directing team members to provide outstanding service while achieving organizational goals and initiatives. The position encompasses both administrative and operational responsibilities, including program implementation, financial oversight, and compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
This role emphasizes innovative hospitality and the creation of a remarkable café experience within our Food program, aimed at supporting operational excellence. The Regional Operations Manager establishes the benchmarks for operational systems, quality assurance standards, hospitality, mentoring, and team development. Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, this position will utilize strong communication, hospitality, and operational expertise to collaborate with key stakeholders across various departments (culinary, nutrition, marketing, behavioral science, concept development, procurement, risk management, operations, and human resources) to uphold standards, meet Food Program expectations, and enhance partner experiences.
This position can be based in various locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and oversee the overall experience, beyond just the offerings
- Foster a culture of hospitality that is welcoming and engaging
- Lead operations across multiple units, including cafés, micro-kitchens, and coffee bars
- Oversee the execution of operational initiatives
- Guide and mentor teams towards achieving business objectives, facilitating their development and training
- Monitor and manage all financial obligations
- Ensure accountability for meeting budgetary and financial targets as they arise
- Guarantee adherence to all operational guidelines
- Promote a culture of Food and Workplace Safety
- Engage with all individuals with professionalism, care, and respect
- Conduct site tours, providing training and support for all logistical requirements
- Ensure teams operate within budget while maintaining high standards
- Meet all deadlines for quarterly and annual reports as required by our partners and sector employers
Qualifications
- A minimum of four (4) years of higher education; a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Hotel/Restaurant Management, Business Management, or a culinary school degree is preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of five years of industry experience may substitute for a degree.
- Experience in multi-unit food service operations, including food trucks, cafés, restaurants, stadiums, or hotels is essential
- At least 3 to 5 years of management experience in a growth-oriented environment, overseeing other multi-unit managers
- Experience in a unionized setting is advantageous
- Ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and engage with all organizational levels
- A strong passion for exceptional food and hospitality
- A proven history as an innovative and financially accountable manager
- Experience in research and development, operations, or concept development is a plus
- Demonstrated mentoring and teaching abilities with peers, individuals, and teams
- Capable of presenting effectively in group settings to associates, managers, and partners, representing the Food Program brand
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
