Position Overview
The Culinary Lead is primarily responsible for overseeing the lunch service, which includes in-lodge dining and preparing packed lunches for outdoor excursions. This role will also support all culinary staff in delivering exceptional meals throughout the winter season.
If you excel in a dynamic kitchen environment set against breathtaking mountain scenery and have a passion for outdoor activities, this unique culinary position may be the perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve lunches for both the field program and lodge guests.
- Engage in menu development, product ordering, and inventory management.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all kitchen equipment and maintain high standards in food preparation and presentation.
- Implement effective stock rotation and ordering practices to minimize waste.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
- Maintain and care for all kitchen tools and equipment.
- Participate in staff meetings and pre-service briefings as required.
- Address special dietary requests with attentiveness and professionalism.
- Uphold a professional appearance and adhere to punctuality standards.
- Assist in field operations as needed, including radio communication.
- Collaborate with other lodge team members as necessary.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols.
- Support emergency response efforts as required.
- Assist guests and staff during field programs as needed.
Qualifications
- Preferred post-secondary education in hospitality or culinary arts.
- Valid Food Safe Certification.
- At least one year of experience in preparing a variety of dishes, including sauces, soups, and sandwiches.
- Minimum one year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Experience in luxury hospitality or fine dining is preferred.

Additional Information
- This position is located in a remote area, requiring employees to manage their own transportation to the lodge.
- Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits
