We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team at Langara College. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and maintaining core IT infrastructure services, business applications, network, security systems, telephony services, backup, and data center environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Deploy and maintain core IT infrastructure services, business applications, network, security systems, telephony services, backup, and data center environments.
- Provide first-level support for day-to-day tickets escalated from the IT Service Desk and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other teams to coordinate regular maintenance upgrades and participate in enterprise projects.
- Coach and mentor junior staff, provide small-scale training, and present to users.
- Participate in the development of IT policies and procedures to meet regulatory compliance and governance.
- Two-year diploma in computer systems technology, computing studies, or equivalent technology diploma, with a focus on server services and network operating systems.
- Completion of recognized industry certification(s) with emphasis on servers, storage, network, and cloud technologies in Microsoft, Linux, VMWare, Citrix, Juniper Networks, Cisco Networks, Palo Alto Firewall, Azure, and AWS.
- ITIL 3 or above certifications.
- Four plus years of combined experience covering desktop support in client-services and cloud environments, system administration of servers, network, and IP telephony technologies.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Shift change or overtime outside of regular work days/hours may be required for scheduled system maintenance with advanced notices, and for emergency work on short notice.
- Ability to safely lift and carry various computer-related equipment exceeding 10 kg.
- Ability to work in environments with minor conditions such as noise, dust, and cold.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm or 9 am - 5:30 pm
