Job Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary point of contact for frontline HR services to leaders and employees. The HRBP engages, coaches, and educates clients on HR matters, providing strategic consultation and support for HR programs.

The successful candidate is passionate about driving change, has a strong understanding of the mining industry and diamond business, and demonstrates exceptional self-awareness and personal leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as a strategic partner, people champion, and change agent, aligning business strategy with HR services and solutions.
  • Facilitates the deployment and execution of cyclical HR program activities with the client.
  • Promotes awareness, provides guidance, and identifies opportunities to improve compliance with legislated programs, policies, and processes.
  • Supports the business in building and maintaining a strong organizational culture.
  • Assists clients to prevent and resolve HR-related issues at the earliest possible point.
  • Identifies change management issues, develops, and executes change management strategies.
  • Assists the client group in understanding relevant HR metrics.
  • Works closely with team leaders and local union to identify early resolution opportunities.
  • Participates in union meetings on matters relating to employees.
  • Maintains a network of internal and external contacts to regularly benchmark and remain current on future trends.
Requirements
  • Completed post-secondary education, preferably in a related field such as Human Resources Management.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation and/or Human Resources Management Certificate are considered strong assets.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant functional experience in human resources as a generalist.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in a unionized environment is a significant asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of employment legislation, HR trends, issues, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate and influence diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Adaptable to work with ambiguity and uncertainty.
