Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Service - Canada, the Regional Operations Leader is responsible for synchronizing the efforts of regional service managers to achieve operational excellence. This role involves coaching and guiding managers to enhance leadership effectiveness within the organization. The leader oversees the daily service operations across regional locations.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Guides, mentors, and develops a high-performing team to ensure organizational success.
  • Conducts timely and constructive performance assessments.

  • Collaborates with locations and managers to attract high-potential talent and prioritize development.
  • Provides leadership across the assigned region, overseeing store operations.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the regional stores; designs and implements training, strategies, policies, goals, and resources to enhance productivity and morale.

Operational Management

  • Analyzes trends and results to assess the company's gross profit and annual unit plans. Monitors gross profit metrics and assists with necessary adjustments to prioritize the budget while ensuring integrity in all actions.
  • Oversees work-in-progress at regional locations to ensure timely updates and correct prioritization. Ensures that items over 10 days old are tracked daily with proper accountability.
  • Actively participates in throughput meetings to ensure locations are engaged and throughput objectives are met.
  • Collaborates with the warranty team to ensure effective warranty processes.
  • Implements service operating plans and strategies to achieve both short- and long-term financial and operational goals.
  • Manages courtesy inspections and ensures regional locations are tracking and following up on these correctly.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Strategic Business Development

  • Works with executive leadership to establish territories, sales quotas, and strategic initiatives.
  • Partners with Service Managers to set sales targets for each location, monitors progress, and develops strategies to attract and retain customers.
  • Creates, implements, and oversees regional budgets, including expense monitoring.
  • Actively participates in the annual Business Plan process, setting ambitious targets and coaching managers on results management.
  • Understands and manages the impact of business activities on working capital.
  • Collaborates closely with central operations to optimize operational objectives.

Sales and Marketing Initiatives

  • Develops and executes marketing strategies, promotions, and sales objectives, including forecasting sales volumes to boost sales, introduce new services, and meet projected quotas for territories and the region.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of the company's products and services, as well as those of immediate competitors in the market.

Customer Experience Focus

  • Maintains a constant emphasis on defining, measuring, and enhancing the customer experience (full cycle, end-to-end). This includes both external and internal customers (e.g., Parts, Body Shop, etc.).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provides coverage for Service Managers in their regions as necessary.
  • Maintains technical and professional knowledge by reviewing industry publications and establishing personal networks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the dealership or trucking sector.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Possesses analytical skills to assess data, make operational decisions, and solve complex problems with effective solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of business management and operational practices.
  • Elevated business acumen.
  • Experience managing diverse teams, including managers, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business or a related field.
  • Certified Journeyperson Technician.
