Job Title: Area Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Supervisor to join our Materials Management team at the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). As an Area Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our assigned work locations, ensuring the efficient management of materials and inventory, and supervising a team of unionized employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of assigned work locations, including inventory management, purchasing, and materials handling.
  • Ensure the security of store areas, proper operating condition of materials handling equipment, and completion of various monthly reports.
  • Coordinate the delivery of inventory parts to end-user departments, investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies, and forecast future material needs.
  • Supervise and motivate a skilled unionized workforce, administer discipline in accordance with the Collective Agreement and TTC policies.
Requirements:
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in job-related functions.
  • Sound knowledge of materials management and materials handling principles, methods, and practices.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a unionized workforce and administer discipline in accordance with the Collective Agreement and TTC policies.
