About the Role

As a key member of a highly skilled, dynamic, and multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art automation solutions.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Contributing to innovative machine concepts and the design of control software.
  • Integrating software with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Developing processes and overseeing machine installations at client locations worldwide.
  • Leading programming and integration tasks utilizing advanced technologies such as PLCs, PCs, robotics, motion controllers, vision systems, and lasers.
  • Creating and developing software programs (PLC and/or PC based) tailored to customer and project specifications, adhering to standard ATS programming methodologies.
  • Debugging and commissioning control systems at our facility and during the integration phase at customer sites.
  • Traveling as necessary to customer and supplier locations for installation, commissioning, and training.
  • Selecting, testing, and integrating hardware and software components including robots, analog devices, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems, and lasers.
  • Collaborating with other team members to continuously enhance integration methods, focusing on improved safety, functionality, and cost efficiency.
  • Engaging with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to resolve issues and deliver a complete, functional automation system.
  • Conducting thorough testing of machine functionality to ensure software program completeness.
  • Providing accurate documentation for each project.
  • Advising customers on technical problem-solving.
  • Delivering training to customers specific to their projects, including machine operation and programming principles.

Qualifications:

A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, systems, or computer engineering is required.

Strong programming, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills are essential.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

Familiarity with robotics, control systems, and machine operation, along with hands-on experience, is highly desirable.
